Case IH has announced a partnership with MacDon Industries to manufacture draper headers for Case IH Axial-Flow combines. The new line of co-branded draper headers will be available to order at Case IH dealers starting early 2022.

Customers will be able to purchase the MacDon draper headers separately, and the MacDon draper headers will have compatibility with current Case IH Axial-Flow combine models going forward. There will also be a retrofit capability for older models. Case IH dealers will have a full set of guidelines to allow them to help look at what would fit with what combination.

"When you get down to producer level, they tell us they want to harvest more of what they grow," says Leo Bose, crop harvesting and hay and forage product marketing manager for Case IH North America. "That's really what these two products do for a producer."

MacDon's new FD2 series gives the draper headers — in turn combines — more flex, more capacity. It goes down to fundamentals: simplicity, grain quality, grain savings.

Based in Manitoba, Canada, MacDon has manufactured harvesting equipment for more than 70 years. Like Case IH, the company has worked directly with producers and custom harvesters to help producers efficiently harvest crops.

"Case IH and MacDon have a shared legacy and goal of making harvesting easier and more productive for North American farmers," says Scott Harris, Case IH global president. "By pairing Case IH's industry-leading portfolio of Axial-Flow combines and a robust dealer network with MacDon's draper header expertise and products, we aim to deliver a best-in-class harvesting package for producers."

This allows us to look at headers to be available for the 2023 season. Shipment will begin around fall 2022 for the 2023 model year. Presale information will be available early 2022. Customers can purchase draper heads separately.
