ExxonMobil Guyana has announced that the Prosperity floating, production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel has arrived in Guyana waters.
The Prosperity FPSO will be used to develop the Payara field, which is located at a water depth of about 2,000m in the Stabroek block, offshore Guyana.
The company stated that production at Payara is expected to start later this year.

The Prosperity FPSO vessel was built by SBM Offshore, a Dutch designer and supplier of FPSOs. The naming ceremony for the FPSO took place in February this year.
The vessel is based on SBM Offshore’s Fast4Ward design and was built at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore. The FPSO has an initial production capacity of around 220,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and a storage capacity of about two million barrels of crude oil.
Additionally, it will have a gas treatment capacity of about 400mcf a day and a water injection capacity of 250,000 barrels per day (bpd). It will be spread moored at water depths of 1,900m.
Prosperity is the third FPSO in the Stabroek block after Liza Destiny and Liza Unity FPSOs, which are producing more than 380,000bopd. With the additional production capacity added by the Prosperity vessel, the average daily production in Guyana waters is expected to increase to about 600,000bopd by next year.
