US-based engineering company McDermott has further strengthened its partnership with Saudi Aramco with three new offshore contracts.
In a statement, McDermott said that it has received three new awards for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) projects.
The company will complete the EPCI for four drilling jackets and seven oil production deck modules (PDMs) in the Zuluf, Ribyan, Abu Sa’fah and Safaniya fields. These fields are all situated offshore in the Arabian Gulf.
The scope of work also includes the EPCI of more than 45km of offshore pipelines, approximately 100km of subsea cables, and tie-in works to existing facilities.
McDermott Europe, Middle East and Africa senior vice-president Tareq Kawash said: “These awards are a direct result of our long track record of successfully delivering shallow water infrastructure for Saudi Aramco and our commitments to the growth of Saudi Arabia’s energy sector as well as In-Kingdom execution in line with Vision 2030.”
The company added that fabrication is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year. Offshore installation works will start in the last quarter of 2022, while overall completion is expected in second quarter of 2023.
McDermott provides engineering and construction solutions for the energy industry. It has operations in 54 countries.
In August 2021, McDermott was contracted to build a second LNG storage tank at the LNG import and regasification terminal in Batangas Bay, Luzon.
The company also received an EPCI contract for Santos’ Bayu-Undan offshore field this year.
