Machinery Harvesting New and updated machinery for farmers introduced this fall Although the farm shows where machinery is typically announced have been moved online, the introduction of new equipment for farmers has continued through the summer and fall of 2020. A number of machinery manufacturers have unvieled their updated product lines in recent weeks. Keep reading to see the latest in harvesting and ATV/UTV innovation. Updated tractors and other equipment are also ready for the market. Harvesting Natalina Sents John Deere Two new models of John Deere X9 combines, the X9 1000 and X9 1100 were announced ahead of the harvest season in North America. The X9 1100 with tracks was in Boone, Iowa for field demonstrations in early September. X Series combnes are available on wheels or tracks. Orders for these machines are open now. READ MORE: John Deere adds two new models to its X Series combine lineup Natalina Sents CLAAS Jeff Gray, CLAAS product manager for field support demonstrated the CLAAS Lexion 8700 TT in Boone, Iowa in early September. The combine was equipped with a 16 row, 30 inch corn head. Optional down corn augers on the head were useful in pulling in the mangled corn that was severly damaged by an August 10 derecho that brought high winds through much of Iowa. READ MORE: CLAAS unveils bigger, faster, stronger Lexion combine AGCO Fendt New models of the Ideal combine have been added to the Fendt product line. The 790 horsepower 10 and 10T combines have up to 20% more throughput capacity than previous models and include harvesting automation that makes operation easier while maintaining top grain quality. "Our engineers have designed substantially more power and cleaning capacity into the IDEAL 10 without increasing the size of the combine. Add the new IDEALdrive steering and TrakRide in combination on the Model 10T combines, and these Class 10 combines will deliver more bushels harvested per day and even easier operation during long days harvesting," says Kevin Forth, AGCO tactical marketing manager for harvesting. READ MORE: Introducing a combine with no steering wheel ATV Polaris Polaris Sportsman The Polaris Sportsman got a major refresh for the first time in 8 years for the 2021 model year. Improvements include increased clearance and towing capacity, a more powerful battery, and better engine braking and clutch performance. Arctic Cat Arctic Cat Alterra In the 2021 model year, the Alterra 450 has returned to Arctic Cat's product line. This ATV has an improved, more durable transmission over previous models. The mid-sized machine also features dual A-arm front and rear suspension and a two-inch receiver hitch ready for work around the farm. UTV John Deere John Deere Gator The 2021 John Deere Gators are designed to feel familiar with many automotive-like features in the instrument cluster, shifting pattern, and power steering. "Customers will find that our updated units are easier to shift and control, provide instant engagement of 4-wheel drive and differential lock, and provide more information on the dashboard," explains marketing manager Mark Davey. Arctic Cat Arctic Cat Prowler 500 Arctic Cat is offering its mid-sized Prowler 500 with Trail, Back Countyr, and Premium cab kits for model year 2021. Equipped with a standard rear 2 inch receiver hitch, this machine is prepared to tow up to 1,500 lbs. Polaris Polaris Ranger The 2021 Polaris Ranger features a smooth, longer-lasting clutch and a 30% more durable isolated front drive. The Ranger XP 1000 Trail Boss and Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar Trail Boss models are new with this model year. Polaris Polaris General Polaris designed the 2021 General for farmers that want to work and play with their UTV. The General XP 1000 Pursuit Edition is new with this model year. It can be ordered with two or four seats. Accessories such as the Kolpin Stronghold Gun Boot and Polaris Northstar cooler were designed with this vehicle in mind. Polaris Polaris RZR While performance side-by-sides are often thought of as a sport machine people enjoy for recreation, Polaris says they've seen it find its place on some large ranches, particularly out west where livestock can be very spread out. 2021 RZR models feature better rear shock guards and 18% lighter wheels for increased agility. New colors and graphics are also available. Arctic Cat Arctic Cat Wildcat XX The 130-horsepower 2021 Wildcat XX from Arctic Cat features 18 inches of front and rear travel, 14 inches of ground clearance, and 300-pound bed capacity. Additional customization is available with Trail, Backcountry, and Excursion kits. Tractors Natalina Sents Fendt 1100 Vario MT The new Fendt 1100 Vario MT track tractors are offered in four models ranging from 511 to 673 horsepower. "We've added some totally new, Fendt-exclusive innovations, such as a steerable three-point hitch system and a hydraulically controlled swinging drawbar option that make headland turns with large implements smoother for the operator, less demanding on the tractor and gentler on the soil," says Tom Turner, strategic marketing manager. AGCO Fendt 900 Vario MT "We're excited to bring the Fendt track tractors to producers throughout North America," says Turner. "The 900 Vario MT tractors exemplify Fendt's legacy of reliability with the efficiency, ride comfort and power producers require to get big jobs done day after day."
