chocolate-dipped bunny treats

These adorable little bunnies were made to share! Make them your own by using peanut butter or jelly in place of the chocolate-hazelnut spread, or dipping the bunnies in vanilla almond bark or melted butterscotch chips instead of chocolate. The possibilities are endless!

Ingredients

  • 12 rich round crackers, such as Ritz®
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • 5 large marshmallows
  • 4 ounces chocolate-flavor candy coating (almond bark), chopped

Directions

  1. Spread half of the crackers with chocolate-hazelnut spread. Top with remaining crackers; set aside.
  2. Using kitchen scissors, cut 3 large marshmallows in half crosswise, then cut each piece in half to create a half-moon shape (this will be the head); set aside. Cut the remaining 2 marshmallows in half lengthwise, then cut each piece in half diagonally. Cut each of these pieces in half lengthwise (these will be the ears; you will have 4 extra pieces). If necessary, coat scissors with nonstick cooking spray. Set pieces aside.
  3. Place candy coating in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on 100% power (high) for 45 to 60 seconds or until melted and smooth, stirring once.
  4. Line a tray with waxed paper. Dip a half-moon marshmallow piece in melted chocolate to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Place on the waxed paper. Dip 2 ear pieces in the chocolate to coat. Place at the rounded side of the head piece. Dip a cracker sandwich in the chocolate to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Place along the flat side of the head piece. Attach a tiny marshmallow to the bottom of the sandwich for the tail. Repeat with remaining marshmallow pieces, coating, cracker sandwiches, and tiny marshmallows. Let stand until set. Makes 6 servings.
