About the program: Flexible five-year contract Requires three to five years of historical field data in addition to annual data entry At least $20 per credit, and guaranteed to receive 75% of credit price as prices increase Payments typically made 12 months after data is filed Access to Corteva adviser team and Granular Insights digital tool Program Differentiators Corteva's Carbon Initiative is farmer-focused, ensuring farmers always receive 75% of carbon credit values. Farmers are able to choose which practices are implemented and can change field plans when necessary. "Farming is a team sport, and the same applies when it comes to carbon as a potential net new revenue stream on the farm," says Casey Mattke, U.S. systems and digital leader at Corteva Agriscience. "Our goal is to keep it simple for farmers to participate in this new market opportunity with an agronomy-first approach and consistent support from a trusted Corteva adviser." By the Numbers In collaboration with Indigo Ag, Corteva's Carbon Initiative is available in 30 states with 15 qualifying crops. Carbon Farmer "While NRCS introduced me to the idea of participating in a carbon program, I found Corteva's Carbon Initiative through my own research," says Fillmore, Illinois, farmer Aaron Janssen, whose operation includes corn, soybeans, wheat, and cattle.
