The 6M tractor is designed to be customizable, to fit the needs of farms and ranches, while maintaining versatility for a variety of applications. “This tractor is the workhorse for many farms and ranches,” says Dennis Ogle, marketing manager for John Deere’s midsize tractor line. “The new 6M tractor is bigger, smarter, faster and more efficient and customizable, making it the go-to tractor for many farms, including dairy and beef operations.” Power specs The 6M tractors range in power from 95 to 250 hp, with a 20 hp boost for non-stationary PTO and transport applications from Deere’s Intelligent Power Management. The models from 95 to 140 hp come standard with John Deere’s 24-speed PowrQuad Plus 25 mph transmission. Models from 155 to 220 hp come standard with the 20-speed PowrQuad Plus 25 mph transmission. The 230 and 250 hp models come standard with a 25 mph infinitely variable transmission (IVT). The 6M tractors are designed for maneuverability with their short wheelbases, ranging from 94 to 110.2 inches, and high visibility with sloped hoods. These models have a high front and rear hitch lift capacity, and are compatible with Deere's 600R line of front end loader attachments. All 6M tractors come standard with a JDLink modem to connect to John Deere operations center. John Deere Options The new models are designed to meet the specifications of a farmer’s operation, with Deere recommending interested buyers reach out to their local John Deere dealer to build what’s right for them. “If farmers are looking for a tractor to help with multiple tasks around their farm, this is their tractor,” Ogle says. “Whether you are putting up hay, moving bales, feeding, mowing roadsides, removing snow or any number of other tasks, the 6M tractor is the workhorse that can help complete the job.” Dual-tire configurations are available across the range of models where more flotation is required. Farmers are able to upgrade the transmissions in all models, with options including the John Deere 16-speed PowrQuad Plus, the 24-speed AutoQuad Plus, the 24-speed CommandQuad Plus, and IVTs. PowrQuad Plus and AutoQuad Plus creeper options are also available. Multiple cab packages are available to increase operator efficiency, as well as more precision ag technology with an updated cornerpost display and integrated connectivity.
