Successful Farming's Editorial Guidelines Updated on November 13, 2023 Close Photo: New Holland Agriculture The new CR11 combine with a new twin rotor is designed to be New Holland’s flagship, highest capacity harvesting machine to match agriculture’s ever-evolving demands. “Farm consolidation, increased yields, and short harvesting windows are driving the need to continue the evolution of combine capacity with less grain loss and at the best grain quality,” says Lars Sorensen, head of combines and headers for New Holland. “We have made further strides in technology and automation, and the strong feedback from the first farmer tests means we are very excited about the launch of these new machines.” Machinery build The CR11 is built with a C16 engine capable of up to 775 hp. The grain tank has a 567 bushel capacity, can be unloaded in under 100 seconds with its 6 bushels per second unload rate. The combine has a 60-foot cutting width. The CR11 will be available with SmartTrax hydraulically suspended track, or a range of large tires. The Michelin Cerexbib 2 tire, size 900/65R46, has a diameter of 7.7 feet, and was jointly developed by New Holland and Michelin for a long footprint and increased traction, with reduced ground compaction. The combine is also designed with a revised driveline, reducing around 25% of drive components from previous iterations, and eliminating drive chains. Automated intelligence This is the first of New Holland’s combines to come standard with PLM Intelligence features. This includes the new IntelliView 12 display, IntelliSteer guidance, and other functions like telematics and remote screen viewing. The CR11 is also designed to reduce downtime with a fully automated de-slug procedure which guides the operator through the unplugging procedure in just a few minutes — without leaving the cab. The residue management system is completely redesigned with a new chopper and chaff spreader system, designed for high quality chop and uniform spread. The IntelliSpread radar system automates spreading control, adjusting for changing conditions such as wind effects, crop type, and moisture content. NutriSense NIR sensors are available as an option on the CR11, capable of monitoring crop composition in real-time. This function analyzes and maps nutrient and moisture data which can be used to help inform production plan changes for future seasons. Availability The New Holland CR11 was officially revealed at World Agritechnica 2023, in Hanover, Germany. The CR11 will be showcased in North America in February 2024 at the National Farm Machinery Show in Louisville, Kentucky. More details will be available at a later date.
