Modovolo The Modovolo Lift is a modular platform that can be configured in multiple ways, according to Justin Call, Modovolo CEO. Components called “lift pods” can be linked together to increase payload and maximize flight time. “Current drone technology is fixed,” he says. “If you just spent $12,000 on a drone that only carries 5 pounds and you have a need for a higher payload, you must purchase another drone to acquire the increased capability. Because there were no other options, operators bought another drone.” The Modovolo Lift can be configured for single and multiple payloads along with utility pods for cameras, batteries, seed, and more. All configurations include flight times of two hours plus, which is about twice the time for other current equipment, according to Modovolo. Longer flight times are achieved through the modular design and high-tension spokes, which are strong and lightweight. Modovolo “The Quad-configured Modovolo Lift is priced at 50% less than a DJI Matrice 300 but has more payload capacity and at least twice the flight time,” says Call. Starting price for the Lift is $6,000. Pre-orders are being accepted now, with the first 200 guaranteed production priority and access to see, provide feedback, and participate in the development and production process. Pre-orders include four Lift Pods and one utility pad for a fully refundable price of $50. Learn more at modovolo.com.
