Ag Leader has announced BoomLoop, a sprayer upgrade to recirculate chemicals during the priming process, minimizing waste.

BoomLoop replaces existing boom ends or the sprayer, creating a path for product to flow from the ends of the boom and back to the tank, priming the arms for even spraying without leaving any chemical on the ground.

"Minimizing chemical waste while ensuring the entire boom is fully primed takes experience,” says Logan Handsaker, product sales specialist for Ag Leader. “Missing a step or doing a partial job can result in gaps in coverage or risk damaging crops. Our goal was to remove the complexities and potential hazards tied to priming with an automated solution that gives the operator confidence and peace of mind.”

This system can also be used to flush the system, and help clear out dead spots and places where chemicals could build up, while using minimal rinse water. BoomLoop functions in uneven conditions, or with arms folded in, meaning circulation can take place during transport to save time.

“Effectively flushing the boom requires significant time, large volumes of rinse water, and a place to safely dispense the contaminated water when sprayed or dispensed from the boom’s flush valves,” says Handsaker.

Recirculation can begin with a single command on the in-cab display, without any further input from the operator, and be set to run fully-automated when not applying.

The BoomLoop system is designed for sprayers with Ag Leader’s RightSpot nozzle-by-nozzle control system, managed through the InCommand 1200 display.
