New AG925 telehandler from JLG

JLG Industries has entered the ag equipment market with the introduction of its new telehandler, the AG925. Telehandlers have been popular with farmers and ranchers in Europe for quite a while, and in recent years started to gain favor among large U.S. farmers. These machines are specifically designed for lifting and loading tasks around livestock operations and come in handy for general farm repair or construction chores, too.

"JLG has a long history as the North American market leader in the construction telehandler category. This experience gave us a solid foundation from which to build when it came to the design engineering and technical expertise needed to manufacture purpose-built models for the agricultural industry," says Frank Nerenhausen, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president of JLG Industries.

"The AG925 marks the start of a line of agricultural telehandlers that will withstand the rigors of year-round farm work," says Rogerio Dos Santos, vice president of engineering for telehandlers at JLG. "The introduction of the AG925 is the first in a planned range of models to meet the needs of the agricultural community."

Farmers got their first opportunity to see this machine in person when it was recently displayed at Ag Progress Days in Furnace, Pennsylvania, the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, and Husker Harvest Days in Grand Isle, Nebraska.

Machine Specifics

The new AG925 model has a load capacity of 8,800 pounds and a 24-foot, 9-inch maximum lift height. Maximum forward reach is 14 feet.

Powered by a Deutz four-cylinder engine, the AG925 has 120 hp. This telehandler is eqipped with a six-speed powershift transmission.

It's designed to work efficiently around the farmyard with a 12-foot turning radius and 25 mph maximum travel speed.

This machine is equipped with a load stability indicator system that automatically limits operation when a load is nearing its maximum capacity. An adjustable seat, horn, and single joystick controls are standard equipment.

An optional multifunction display can be added to this telehandler to show the operator load charts, a reversing camera, and onboard diagnostics. Air conditioning and ride control for a more comfortable working environment are also optional.

Attachments and accessories

JLG offers a variety of attachments including carriages, forks, buckets, and bale handlers to equip the machine to handle silage, load hay bales, and clean out pens. When equipped with a quick coupler, the AG925 is compatible with third-party and skid steer attachments to move feed, bedding, and hay.

Other farm-friendly accessories such as a reverse sensing system, LED work lights, and fenders are also available.

JLG sales and support

JLG will approach the agriculture market differently than the construction and industrial markets where they have experience. A dedicated agriculture sales and support team will be established.

"We are currently fielding inquiries and we're in discussions with dealers across North America to identify distributors who are like-minded, value premium products, and seek to deliver the same gold standard of lifecycle product support and service to its customers that JLG is renowned for. These dealers will have exclusive distribution rights within a designated territory to represent and sell JLG agricultural telehandlers," says Nerenhausen.

Price and availability

The AG925 is available for sale, with 50 units in the U.S. for purchase now. These models were manufactrued in Medias, Romania. Moving forward, all new models will be built in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.
