BASF announces Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment

Updated combination offers protection from damaging nematodes and insects

The release of Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment gives BASF Agricultural Solutions another SCN management option.

Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment contains a unique biological strain of Bacillus firmus that provides a living biological barrier offering protection from a wide range of nematode pests. and encouraging plant growth, as reported by the company.

Enhanced root growth and biomass at key development stages is critical to increasing yield potential, and Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment supports a strong start to the season, says BASF.

“Protection from nematodes is paramount to maximizing soybean growth and yield potential,” says Troy Bauer, BASF senior field technical representative, seed treatments. “Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment is unique in that it combines a biological and insecticide. The biological grows with the root system to protect the soybean from nematodes while the insecticide delivers immediate protection from key insect pests.” 

Poncho Votivo Precise seed treatment also provides protection against early season insects and pests including aphids, seed corn maggots, bean leaf beetle, white grubs, and grape colaspis. This product is currently available to retailers and growers and can be utilized as a soybean seed treatment for the 2024 growing season in all soybean markets.
