The tractor is equipped with a 110 kWh battery, good for around four hours of runtime under heavy applications, and up to six to eight under normal to light applications. With DC fast-charging, the tractor can be recharged from 10% to 80% in less than one hour — just in time to get back to work after lunch. The fully electrified drivetrain is rated for 74 hp., 65 PTO hp., with a top speed of 25 mph, and a maximum torque of 320 Nm. Despite the battery, the 75C runs largely the same as its diesel counterparts, says Jeff Akel, global tractor product marketing for Case IH. It has a two-speed rear PTO, drawbar, 3-point hitch, multiple rear remotes, and mid-mount valves. “It runs in the same applications as the diesel tractor. No difference, no compromise,” says Akel. “The drivability is fantastic. You have instant acceleration, you have torque throughout the whole speed range. You'll notice you're in something different than a diesel tractor — it's extremely quiet when you run it.” Autonomy and technology Case IH Full 360° cameras have been added as one of the new technology offerings on the 75C in part due to its quiet engine, allowing the operator to identify if anyone is near the tractor. If anyone gets too close, the tractor will automatically send a warning notification or stop the tractor if needed. The 360° camera is full view as well, even with an attached loader. Multiple cameras on the tractor are able to stitch together to form a full view, essentially rendering the loader completely invisible on the camera’s display. Case IH has also added a row follow feature, which uses the vision system instead of GPS-based row mapping to fix on a point — a row of crops or fence line — and follow along it. Similarly, another function allows the farmer to get out of the cab, and have the tractor follow along as the operator walks the field. For operating in low-light conditions, the tractor is equipped with LED lights all around the cab. Two AC and one DC charging options are available, from the plug-and-play entry level AC charger to the premium fast DC charger. The economy DC charger uses the existing electric grid to recharge in under three hours. The battery has a 3-year, 8,000-hour warranty. The Farmall 75C is a big step for Case IH as its first fully-electric tractor of this class, but with size-constraints on battery power, and owner preferences, it isn’t necessarily a sign of a company-wide shift anytime soon. “The 75C is not going to replace a diesel — it's not going to be all electric or all diesel,” says Akel. “For people who this tractor's applicable for, that's what they'll buy. If farmers want to buy diesel, they'll continue to buy diesel. We're there to provide purposeful solutions for the customers.” Availability The Farmall 75C will be available for limited orders starting early 2024. For more information, visit CaseIH.com.
