Successful Farming's Editorial Guidelines Published on December 9, 2021 Close Photo: Case IH "We're hearing that producers are looking to vary their residue coverage between seasons or accommodate conservation-tillage practices," says Chris Lursen, Case IH tillage marketing manager. "The VT-Flex 435 vertical-tillage tool allows just that." Adjustable flexibility at the core The VT-Flex 435 is designed around agronomic flexibility to help producers create optimal field conditions by making variable gang angle adjustments on the fly. The gang angles are mechanically or hydraulically adjustable from 0° to 12° for desired field finish. Operators will be able to adjust front gangs independently from the rear gangs from the tractor cab to vary residue coverage and field finish. Optional hydraulic gang angle adjustments allow operators to adjust tillage tool settings while continuing to cover acres at speeds of 6 to 9 mph. The implement also offers single-point hydraulic depth control for quick adjustments in 1- to 4-inch depth capabilities. "We know producers need to make frequent adjustments to meet changing field conditions, and making those adjustments on the go is just one way this new Case IH tillage tool helps operators optimize their time," Lursen said. The VT-Flex 435 offers a transport width of 13 feet, 7 inches. The tillage tool is also equipped with a TigerPaw Crumbler roller to produce uniform clod sizing and residue distribution. A standard walking tandem design on the main frame and wings provides balance and stability, reducing soil compaction and allowing greater depth control. Case IH Tough enough Case IH has equipped the VT-Flex with 20-inch Earth Metal VT wave blades to hold up in tough conditions featuring flat, crimped blade centers to create blade strength. Other durability features from Case IH's line-up include cast-iron nodular spools and large arbor bolts. The roller features a spring down-pressure design with formed bars to add strength under harsh conditions. A powder coat paint finish adds greater resistance to in-field wear and tear. The VT-Flex 435 will be available fall 2022 in five configurations at widths of 11-, 15-, 20-, 23-, or 25-feet. Optional hydraulic gang angle adjustments are available on the 15- to 25-foot models.
