Women in Agribusiness is hosting its 13th annual WIA Summit September 24-26 in Denver. More than 65 speakers will present to 1,000-plus attendees over the three-day event.

Session topics include key policy and trade concerns for U.S. agribusiness, autonomy’s impact on precision agriculture, navigating today’s market forces, the carbon market, meeting the global demand for protein, crisis preparation in the face of animal disease, and more.

Gabrielle Roesch-McNally, director of American Farmland Trust’s Women for the Land Initiative, will moderate a panel of women producers and sharing a recently published report on the state of gender equity in agriculture.

“We’ll talk about what some of the challenges that women producers have faced but also where they are finding hope and resilience, what tools and strategies are they using, and what support they need,” Roesch-McNally says. “I want to get that audience thinking about how can we better support diversified and diverse women producers across the country, including getting access to financial and technical resources to support their success.”

Successful Farming Business Management Editor Cassidy Walter will moderate and participate in a panel on fostering a symbiotic relationship between journalists and agribusinesses. The all-women panel includes one additional journalist, the precision ag public relations manager for John Deere, and the senior director of marketing and communications for the American Soybean Association.

“It is my hope the agribusiness professionals in the audience walk away with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the workflow between their media relations team and journalists to bring their expertise and discoveries to the public,” Walter says.
