In this episode, I sit down with Gabrielle Roesch-McNally, director of American Farmland Trust’s Women for the Land Initiative. She works to ensure women landowners have access to the resources they need to become leaders in conservation and building resilient agrifood systems.

Roesch-McNally will be moderating a panel of women producers at the upcoming Women in Agribusiness Summit, September 24-26 in Denver. She will be sharing a recently published report on the state of gender equity in agriculture with the audience and discussing it with the panelists.

We've always known that women have an important role, but they've often been a bit invisible. They've been doing the books. They've been caring for the family, been doing a lot of things to support the farm business, but in a way that a lot of times people haven't always seen them as the farmer or as a central decision maker. Our program challenges that notion and says we know that women are important. They're critical decision makers.
