15 Minutes With a Farmer podcast: Lacey Singleton supports sobriety in the wild West

Lacey Singleton of Sober Cowboy

In this episode, I sat down with Lacey Singleton of Colorado Springs, Colorado, who recently started the non-profit organization Sober Cowboy. The group’s mission is to help those in the western community — specifically in rodeo and ranching — avoid addiction using faith, healthy outlets, and a supportive community.

After a trip to the National Finals Rodeo in December, Singleton did some soul-searching about her life’s purpose. After dealing with her father's addiction and walking her own path sobriety, she wanted to create a community to showcase a sober way of life for those in a culture where alcohol is ingrained.

I’m trying to break the stigma. You don’t have to drink a case of beer and a bottle of whiskey to be a cowboy.
