Successful Farming's Editorial Guidelines Published on March 20, 2023 Close If an electric impact driver is not available and all you have is a large ratchet with an extension, consider this one-man option I created. Taking a disc blade, cone side up, weld a 4-foot length of ¼×2-inch angle iron to the center. Weld in place a series of ½×5-inch rods spaced approximately 3 inches apart. It helps to angle the rods steeper than a 45° angle. Place your ratchet extension on the appropriate rung to level and start torquing. In addition, if I need to put a cheater bar on my ratchet, the stand helps hold the socket in place. - Delbert Hayes, Norwalk, Iowa Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
