Kinze Hosts First Field Day at Iowa Headquarters

Kinze Manufacturing started off the month of August by hosting its first field day in years at the Williamsburg, Iowa, headquarters. Company executives and product specialists were on hand to highlight features of the company's three new planter technologies and Mach Till hybrid horizontal tillage tool for farmers and dealers.

"We had beautiful weather, great attendance, and an exciting day," beamed president Susie Veatch after the event. "For me, it's always fun to rub shoulders with both dealers and customers, to talk to them, learn more about their backgrounds, and then to see the excitement on their faces."

Planter Technologies

Phil Jennings, service manager for Kinze, led farmers and dealers through test drives of the company's newest planter technologies during the event. He also demonstrated the tools in a Successful Farming Facebook live video.

Kinze first unveiled the three planter technologies, Blue Vantage, Blue Drive, and True Depth, at the 2018 National Farm Machinery Show.

"For a lot of our operators, technology seems to be stressful. We wanted to provide a solution that took some of the stress out of that for them," explained Eric Broadbent, director of sales for North America.

Mach Till

Kinze also highlighted its new tillage tool, Mach Till. Event attendees were eager to head to the field and watch the hybrid horizontal tillage tool in action.

Outside the Kinze Innovation Center, two plots were staged for the demonstrations. Sections of two corn hybrids and hay were planted in the first plot. The second demonstration plot included sorghum and canola.

As part of the demonstration, two competitive tillage tools were run through the plots. The Norwood Kwik-Till HSD2500 and Horsch Joker RT22 each made a pass parallel to the Kinze Mach Till.

Then, attendees walked through the side-by-side comparisons to inspect the soil and crops. Justin Render works for Kinze as a Mach Till product specialist. He explained his observations as the crowd evaluated each tillage pass.
