PTx will represent AGCO’s precision ag development, bringing together the tech stack from Precision Planting and PTx Trimble. This joint venture is intended to rapidly grow AGCO’s precision technology for farmers and OEMs. Specialized dealers will be able to use PTx’s developments to retrofit almost any make or model of equipment with new technology. PTx is working with over 100 OEM partners to factory-fit its products on new equipment. Machines from AGCO’s brands, including Fendt and Massey Ferguson, will have factory-fit technology available from PTx. Leadership Seth Crawford, senior vice president of precision ag and digital at AGCO, will be leading the PTx joint venture as its senior vice president and general manager. “We believe technology should give farmers the flexibility to work their way across brands and throughout the crop cycle,” Crawford said in a press release. “Through the PTx portfolio offerings within Precision Planting and PTx Trimble, we’ll provide seamlessly compatible, powerfully simple precision ag solutions. We know farming is easier when platforms speak to each other, and are designed and supported by experts who understand farmers. That’s what PTx is promising our customers around the world.” Andrew Sunderman has been named general manager of PTx Trimble. Sunderman has 12 years of experience in various AGCO roles. “Farmers rely on precision ag technologies to increase yields, decrease waste and maximize their resources,” Sunderman said in a press release. “The launch of PTx and the start of the PTx Trimble joint venture enable us to better serve farmers, offering them retrofit and factory-fit solutions to achieve their financial and operational goals.” Keith Crow will continue to lead Precision Planting as general manager.
