Cheryl Walsh

Cheryl Walsh is a fourth-generation farmer and pork producer from Peoria County, Illinois. She is also the 2024 president of the Illinois Pork Producers Association.

Walsh joined us for a quick conversation on the 15 Minutes With a Farmer podcast. We discussed the hog business, the importance of participating in industry associations, difficulties caused by Prop 12, working with visa employees, and estate planning.

Our biggest problem is California as a state is trying to dictate how I raise pigs here in Illinois and that’s not fair. As producers, we know how to raise our pigs.
