Or they’re thrown in pickup beds, maybe rattling around under the truck seat. Good luck finding one when you need it! This simple hitch rack is what farmer Jason Eichenberg of Warroad, Minnesota, crafted to solve that problem. What You'll Need Equipment / Tools Sabre saw Miter saw Drill or driver Materials ¾-inch plywood 10x36-inch plywood Receiver hitches ball mounts Instructions Read the instructions David Ekstrom Grab some ¾-inch plywood, as ball mounts can be pretty weighty.Cut the front of the rack 10 inches wide and 36 inches long.Cut multiple 2¼-inch square holes into the plate using a Sabre saw. Space the first two holes 4 inches apart to accommodate multiple ball mounts. The remaining holes are spaced 3 inches apart. Locate the top of each hole 2 inches from the top of the plywood.Build out the rest of the storage rack. The top shelf is a piece of 10x36-inch plywood. The sides on this version are 12 inches wide and 16 inches tall. If you like, you can make these sides taller to create extra storage space under the rack. For example, Jason built his rack tall enough to accommodate a portable air tank underneath.Throw a coat of paint on to make it easier to keep clean. Watch the video
