Farmer Marc Johnson of Mead, Nebraska, used leftover PVC piping for the task. What You'll Need Equipment / Tools Mitre saw, saber saw, or hand saw Materials PVC piping Glue Instructions Read the instructions Natalina Sents Bausch Use 2½- or 3-inch diameter PVC pipe for 11- to 18-inch long zip ties.Use 2-inch diameter PVC pipe for shorter ties.Cut the pipe approximately ½-inch shorter than the length of the zip tie if storing the tie without a second end cap. With a second end cap, which is not glued on, cut the pipe ½-inch longer than the tie.The cap at one end of the pipe is glued using PVC glue. Watch the video
