So, like many of our readers, Landon got busy making his own solution. He took a sheet of ⅛-inch steel, and cut it to hold socket rails he bought at a discount outlet for 99¢ a piece. After those bargain socket rails were riveted to the sheet metal, Landon was in business. What You'll Need Equipment / Tools Riveter Sheet metal shear Materials ⅛-inch thick sheet steel 9-gauge wire Socket rails Instructions Read the instructions David Ekstrom The base of the rack is made from ⅛-inch thick sheet steel that is 15 inches wide and 18 inches long. Create a handle to go on one of the narrow ends of this sheet by bending 9-gauge wire in a loop and feeding it through a sheet metal clasp that is riveted to the sheet metal.Rivet the socket rails to the metal sheet.
