Successful Farming's Editorial Guidelines Updated on October 25, 2023 Close Photo: Milwaukee Tool Milwaukee’s new M18 Fuel half-inch high torque impact wrench is a complete redesign from the previous iteration of the tool, with more power and speed than before. The new impact wrenches will be available to order with a friction ring or pin detent kit, and are fully compatible with Milwaukee’s line of M18 18 volt cordless tools and batteries. Both models in the line have four-mode drive control, and includes an auto shut-off and bolt-removal mode. Auto shut-off prevents over-tightening by applying no more than 50 foot-pounds of torque. Bolt removal mode operates at maximum nut-busting torque to break the fastener free, then reduces to 750 RPM for more control. The four modes operate at different RPM ranges: Mode 1: 0 - 700 RPMMode 2: 0 - 1,300 RPMMode 3: 0 - 2,000 RPMMode 4: Forward: 0 - 900 RPM, reverse: 0 - 2,000 RPM The impact wrenches have LED lights for working in low-visibility conditions. The battery isolation system maintains a secure battery connection and controls vibration transmitted to the pack. The friction ring version comes in at a compact size, at 7.5 pounds with the battery pack and 7.6 inches long, up to 2 inches shorter than previous models, for working in tight spaces.
